A physical and materials chemist by training, she works on a diverse array of topics in her PhD, including designing novel semiconductor materials, investigating their structural, optical, and electrical properties, and exploring their applications in photovoltaics and microelectronics. Prior to UC Berkeley, Han graduated magna cum laude with a BA in chemistry and mathematics and a minor in physics from Franklin & Marshall College. Outside of research, Han loves writing about science and serves as a writer and editor for the Berkeley Science Review – a student publication covering research at UC Berkeley.
